New Product Brings the Holy Land of Israel to the United States -- Literally

“  For weddings, for luck, sprinkled on the lawn of a new home… the list is endless
Holy Land Earth imports and sells affordable packages of fertile soil from Israel for use in burial ceremonies, gravesite visits, and any other use buyers deem appropriate.

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) February 21, 2007 -- All over the United States, persons of faith dream of visiting the Holy Land of Israel. Others may even wish to be laid to rest in the Holy Land upon their deaths. And although these notions are shared by many; simple logistics, family considerations, and costs prevent most from ever realizing these dreams. It's very important that we give some kind of assurance that this is genuine Israeli soil, so we have a Rabbi who does Kosher certifications give his nod of approval Entrepreneur Steven Friedman seeks to address these desires. His company, Holy Land Earth, is making a name for itself by importing genuine soil from Israel to the US.

"I originally got the idea from speaking with family and friends" stated Friedman, who is Jewish "the very grounds of Israel are considered holy by not only Jews, but other religions as well. So if you can't visit or be buried in Israel, the next best thing is to bring some earth from Israel to you."

Edward Yarmus, funeral director at Plaza Jewish Community Chapel in Manhattan, agrees: "This is a great idea" he stated "I always like to give the widow and grieving family members some regular earth to put by hand into the grave themselves... this will take that meaning to a whole new level."

"The highest form of respect would be to place some earth from the Holy Land in the grave" added Yarmus

Friedman initially ran into a small issue when starting his venture - dirt is typically illegal to bring into the US due to import health regulations. Working with leading scientists and religious leaders, they came up with a way to cleanse the soil to satisfy US import requirements, while still leaving the soil rich and fertile. "You could plant a tree in it" Friedman exulted.

Import requirements satisfied, all that was left was to design a tasteful package, and find some way to assure consumers they were indeed getting genuine soil from the Holy Land. "It's very important that we give some kind of assurance that this is genuine Israeli soil, so we have a Rabbi who does Kosher certifications give his nod of approval" says Friedman. The Rabbi travels between Israel and the US, and oversees the entire collection, cleansing, and packaging process.

Friedman packages his soil in beautiful, re-sealable 16oz pouches, and will retail them for $20, with 15% of profits going to charities in Israel. A website (www.holylandearth.com) has already launched, making the product available to anyone, for any reason. "Besides the obvious burial and gravesite uses, our price point will allow people to use the soil any way they wish." said Friedman "For weddings, for luck, sprinkled on the lawn of a new home… the list is endless"

Holy Land Earth is genuine soil from the holy land of Israel, and can be used for burial, luck, as a keepsake, or for any other reason. For more information on Holy Land Earth, please contact Steven Friedman at info (at) holylandearth.com. You can visit them online at www.holylandearth.com
