NorthPark Baptist Church Kicks Off "Reel Time" at Regal Cinema on February 5, 2006

(PRWEB) February 1, 2006 -- On Sunday, February 5, 2006, students in grades 9-12 will take church outside the walls and into the movie theater. The worship service will feature a live band in Trussville’s Regal Cinema’s biggest theater, followed by EMPACT Bible Study (Sunday School). A worship band will lead worship and then the students will watch the sermon on the big screen. Though the students will be off campus, they will still be connected to the church. Streaming video will allow the adults to see the students.

Stephen Hall, Minister to High School Students at NorthPark Baptist Church says, “While there are several churches in our area, countless teenagers remain unchurched apart from Jesus. God has given us a passion to take the gospel outside the walls of the church building. God has blessed our student ministry – we are already averaging more than 170 High School students. Still, we estimate more than 2300 unchurched students in our immediate area!” He continues, “Why will teenagers come to Reel Time? We want to engage them on their own turf. We will have Real Worship, Real Truth, Real Relationships. (And of course, free donuts.)”

Reel Time will take place each Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. beginning February 5, 2006. Come early for donuts! Mark Enoch will lead worship each week with a worship band. Stephen Hall will be the “onsite pastor.

“Reel Time is a play off of the word ‘real.’ We live in a culture dominated by the influence of the movie reel. We are meeting in a movie theater challenging high school students to ‘be real’ about their faith,” says Hall. “What is ReelTime – a challenge to get ‘Real’ about our faith.”

Buses will run continually from NorthPark’s campus on Deerfoot Parkway in Trussville to the Regal Cinema. At the conclusion of the service, those students who do not have cars will ride the NorthPark shuttle to the church campus to meet their parents.
