Saturday Prayer Rally, Friday Press Conference, At Capitol Square Bell Tower, For Trooper Chaplains

(PRWEB) October 29, 2008 -- News media are invited to cover the big crowds expected on Saturday November 1st, at the "Virginia, Stand Up For Jesus!" State-wide Prayer Rally outside the Governor's mansion, at the Capital Square Bell Tower (900 Bank St) from 9:30-11am, honoring the six Virginia State Police Chaplains forced to resign for praying "in Jesus name."

All pastors and news media are also invited to a pre-rally PRESS CONFERENCE on Friday, October 31st at 10am, at the same outdoor location, where event organizer Chaplain Klingenschmitt (and all pastors) will address the media before the event.

The event will allow Virginia citizens to honor, support, and pray for the six Virginia State Police Chaplains who were recently forced to resign for praying publicly "in Jesus' name." 86 Virginia Pastors pledged to mobilize their churches to vote in response to this chaplain crisis, but Virginia Governor Tim Kaine personally signed a letter rejecting their request to reverse his ban on using the word "Jesus" in public prayer.

In response to the prayer ban, six Troopers took a stand for Christ, by "turning in their chaplain badge" rather than disobey orders or deny Jesus. Now Virginians can rally to stand up for Jesus, pray publicly in Jesus' name (as the troopers may not do), and pray that God and government will reinstate the chaplains with liberty.

The free, non-partisan Virginia rally will include pastors, policymakers, political, civic, and church leaders, a praise band, and a time of prayer for the chaplains, our nation and our government.

For more information, (including a partial list of other nationally-recognized attendees), please visit www.prayinjesusname.org

Event organizer and former Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt (also punished for praying "in Jesus name" in uniform in 2006), is available for interviews now and anytime prior to these events. For more information or to schedule an interview please call 719-360-5132 (cell), or email chaplaingate@yahoo.com
